This project will address core barriers to widening its application to all learners as well as aim to provide more functionality for teachers themselves in order to fully integrate Glean into the classroom. Glean is currently used almost exclusively by students with disabilities who receive additional learning support. Most importantly, we have taken our learnings from academic research and Audio Notetaker user feedback and designed Glean from the ground up to be accessible and enjoyable to use. It also integrates the notes with multimedia, including relevant supporting material. It provides distraction-free note taking, helping users create more valuable notes by breaking up the process. Glean addresses the core challenge of note taking trying to engage in the moment while capturing the valuable parts. Glean is an evolution of Audio Notetaker, our innovative software that turns audio into visual blocks. There is a Certified Trainer webinar with an accompanying Glean Quiz offered in the UK for those wishing to develop training skills for Glean.Sonocent's "Glean" is a note-taking platform for capturing, organising and utilising information from conversations and presentations. I’m a certified Sonocent Audio Notetaker trainer - do you offer that for Glean? We are not planning to offer a migration of data from other note taking solutions such as Sonocent Audio Notetaker into Glean for institutional customers. Glean is an all new cloud-based solution and as such stores information differently than Sonocent Audio Notetaker. Can Audio Notetaker projects be transferred to Glean? These individual chunks can be color coded into. The audio recording is split into chunks by the natural pauses in a presenter’s speech pattern. We are encouraging them to upgrade to Glean and to contact media kit so students have access to the right information. Sonocent is a computer and mobile program that allows you to record the audio of a lecture, meeting, or presentation and sync that audio up with typed notes, as well as images or slides. How will existing Sonocent Audio Notetaker users be supported?Įxisting Sonocent Audio Notetaker customers will be able to continue using the product as long as they like and they will be supported until 2025. Simply add ‘Glean for DSA’ or ‘Glean DSA Mobile’ to your quote requests or select them from the relevant quotation portal. How do I recommend Glean for DSA eligible students? Yes, Glean has been approved by SFE and has been added to their DSA approved product list. We are running a series of events which demonstrate the differences between Glean and Sonocent Audio Notetaker which you can sign up to. However, we do recommend that most students would be better served with Glean. You can still recommend Sonocent Audio Notetaker if you feel it is the best solution for the student's needs. If an update to the operating system causes Sonocent Audio Notetaker to become unoperational, then we will work to resolve this within the software. Maintenance means that we will work to resolve critical bugs that affect the operation and usability of the software on supported operating systems. What does maintenance of the product involve? We are encouraging users to transition to our new software Glean over the next few years. We will continue to maintain Sonocent Audio Notetaker until August 2024 and continue to offer support until 2025 to allow a phased transition period but there will be no further development for Sonocent Audio Notetaker.
